Our Facilities
This purpose-built, single level accommodation in Nelson has its own private guest entrance which provides easy access to your rooms with no steps to negotiate, and is far enough away from the road, which often gives rise to expressions of surprise at how large the B&B actually is, given the small "cottage-like" entrance and just how quiet it is! Located at the rear of the property, the B&B guest wing is sound proofed, has some double-glazing and provides security stays on the windows.
The garden provides quiet and peaceful seclusion, with outdoor seating areas in the courtyard and covered deck and with the sound of the flowing stream in the background, offers a unique ambience. You may also enjoy a spa under the stars or in the balmy twilight with a glass of wine, to relax those muscles after a day trekking in the Abel Tasman Park!
For some peaceful 'time-out' retreat to the stream, where the ducks will inevitably turn-up for company and maybe a shag to demonstrate its fishing abilities!
Artworks abound; Robyn's rock collection; Kees's artwork and an eclectic garden provide plenty of interest and there is always a glass of wine (or local beer) to share with fellow travellers with stories of well-travelled globe-trotting experiences!
All four guest rooms have own ensuites and are equipped with dressing table and chairs, wardrobes and hangers, heaters, hairdryers, electric blankets, beautiful toiletries, luxury linen and bedding, case racks, robes & slippers, and gracious appointments to ensure your utmost comfort. Free wireless internet is able to be accessed anywhere on the property.

Testimonials...
- A short note to let you know how much we appreciated Ambleside, and how we now understand even more just how much you spoiled us for our New Zealand holiday and just how good your B&B really is. We have now seen most standards and prices, and price and standard are not always synonymous. From the moment we arrived at Ambleside we knew we had struck gold with the most delightful accommodation and welcoming hosts. Only after a further four weeks enjoying the high standards of accommodation throughout the South Island in all styles and types of holiday accommodation were we able to really understand just how good Kees and Robyn are. Ambleside sets standards that others must strive to achieve, a jewel in the crown. Thank you both for a fantastic stay, we will be back.
